This is where things should grow

Dead Dirt

I have never applied myself to the growing of plants. In college when my mind was elsewhere, I overwatered and then underwatered the plant(s) that ended up in my dorm room. Now that I’m an adult, my favorite plants are ones that sit in water and then expire after a certain amount of time because they are already cut, and their eventual wilting is expected. Those, and the kind that are outside, woody, and self-sustaining in the environment in which they are planted. Cutting grass? I’m there. Preventing trees from growing between the sidewalk and the foundation of my house? Yes. Hanging plants, peonies, and things I need to give attention to in order not to kill? Not my thing.
